Supplementary Training
General:
If you require supplementary training, you must speak with your immediate superior. It is the employing unit (department or section) who finance the training. There are a number of free internal courses at LIFE (Announcement in Danish only).
At University of Copenhagen (KU), there are also a number of offers through PUMA. These courses usually cost little. View course catalogue in Danish. View course catalogue in English.
Competence fund
It is possible once a year, usually spring / early summer, to seek funds from the Competence Fund at KU. The Competence Fund is financed by appropriations from The Centre for Development of Human Resources and Quality Management. (In Danish: SCKK). You can apply for funds for supplementary training which lasts more than 37 hours, and which is agreed upon with your superior during the employee interview (MUS) as a part of the Individual Development Plan. A requirement for applying for the Competence Fund is that the department or section provides 30% financing. You can apply for financing for courses that cost over 5,000DKK and it is possible to apply for a maximum of 80,000DKK per person per year.
There is no subsidy for internal courses through the faculty or PUMA.
All applications must go through the Head of Department. Check therefore with your manager whether it is possible to obtain 30-50% co-financing. Read the guidelines at KUnet (Danish only).
