Cyanobacteria

Cyanobacteria are inarguably one of the most important photosynthetic organisms on Earth and play major roles in the global carbon and nitrogen cycle. We want to understand the regulatory mechanisms of carbon metabolism in these bacteria at the molecular level. Our work is based on our and others previous findings that vitamin E influences the carbon allocation and are investigating the link between vitamin E and regulation, possibly through signaling.
