Plant cell walls and cyanobacteria
Our group is interested in understanding i) the mechanisms of glycoconjugant synthesis and ii) biological functions of the glycoconjugants in photosynthetic organisms, including plant and cyanobacteria. To this end we focus on the following topics:
1. Protein complex formation and membrane topology of the biosynthesis of plant cell wall polysaccharides in Golgi
2. Biological roles of plant cell wall in host-microbe interaction
3. Regulation of carbon allocation in cyanobacteria
Basic knowledge generated in our group are used to support applied research, as our group is a part of bioenergy consortia focusing on plants (Fuel4Life, Bio4Bio) and cyanobacteria (DirectFuel). Please visit the links for further information.
