Gene Discovery

Discovery of pathogen genes which are important for the host-pathogen interaction helps us gain new insight into to the life of plant pathogens. One of the methods we use for the discovery is Suppression Subtractive Hybridisation (SSH), which is a method that can find genes that are differentially expressed during different biological conditions.

In combination with gene discovery we also screen for enzyme activities in plant pathogen interactions and study the expression patterns of the discovered genes using qPCR.
