Diagnostics

Diagnostics of plant pathogens use both classical methods based on symptom expression and pathogen morphology. This is combined with modern molecular methods to characterize and detect the pathogens including PCR methods. A particular point here is phylogenetic analyses of the relationship between different pathogens as well as between isolates of a particular species.
