Biological control
Studies on classical biological control using microorganisms (BCAs) include screening for new BCAs as well as basic studies of the ecology of BCAs and their interactions with pathogens and plants (seeds, roots, leaves and fruits). These interactions are furthermore investigated by using tools such as genetic transformation of fungi and exploitation of reporter gene technology with filamentous fungi using advanced microscopically techniques such as confocal microscope and laser capture dissection microscopy.
