Identification of regulon of the glucosinolate pathway

Regulatory proteins are hypothesized to be organized in supramolecular complexes (regulons). The composition of regulons determines their specificity towards defined sets of genes which are then coordinately transcribed and translated to proteins.

In the biosynthesis of Met-derived GLS, three closely related R2R3 MYB transcription factors MYB28, MYB29 and MYB76 have been characterized as direct and positive regulators. We aim at identifying interacting partners in the regulatory protein complexes centered around MYB28, MYB29 and MYB76 in both targeted and untargeted approaches.

Characterization of proteins of the MYB regulons as well as chaperones assisting their assembly/disassembly will enable linking of regulon composition to the dynamic changes in glucosinolate profiles.
