Gene discovery in plant cell wall polysaccharide modifying enzymes

The majority of plant cell wall polysaccharides are synthesized in the Golgi apparatus and are secreted from the cell.  We are interested in understanding how newly synthesized polysaccharide is modified and assembled into pre-existing polysaccharides in the cell wall. Currently we focus on the identification and characterization of enzymes involved in arabinogalactan modification.
