Centres
Plant Biochemistry is highly involved in crossdisciplinary research centres of which some are based at Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology.
Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (NNFCB)
This centre has five research programmes of which one, "Plant Pathway Discovery" is based at Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology. The other programmes are based at the Technical University of Denmark. The aim the center is to perform interdisciplinary basic research in microbial cell factories to obtain sustainable production of chemicals through the combination of capacities within Microbial Cell Factories, Metagenomics, Plant Biochemistry, and in silico Biology.
Head of "Plant Pathway Discovery" is Professor Birger Lindberg Møller.
Pro-Active Plants
The VKR Research Centre Pro-Active Plants is based at the Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology with partners at other research institutions in Denmark and abroad. The aim of this centre is to provide new fundamental knowledge of relevance to the development of more robust plants producing high yields in spite of adverse growth conditions and the development of plants as green factories merging into synthetic biology.
Head of the Centre is Professor Birger Lindberg Møller.
UNIK Synthetic Biology
Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology participates along with three other departments from the University of Copenhagen in a multidisciplinary research initiative with focus on synthetic biology. The scientific objective is to develop insights, tools and technologies for preparing and characterizing bio-inspired systems with tailor-made functions.
Head of Centre is Professor Birger Lindberg Møller.
