Visit the department
Students, school classes and upper secondary schools can visit the Faculty of Life Sciences, KU and our Department through KU-LIFE’s visiting arrangement. Read more about the arrangement and who you should contact (only in Danish).
Are you part of an association/a society that wish to visit the Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology, please feel free to contact us. You will have the opportunity to see the Department itself, the environmental chambers and the greenhouses. It will also be possible to see parts of the Department's main collection.
Furthermore, the Department's researchers can be invited to give lectures etc.
Our pride and joy is the upper secondary school tours, where upper secondary school students can visit the Department and genetically engineer a plant by themselves. It is feasible for others to do the same, but due to occupational health and safety regulations several conditions have to be met. You are always welcome to contact us and inquire about the options. One of the persons who has been granted permission to perform genetic engineering at the Department is journalist and rock critic Anders Rou Jensen from the Danish newspaper Politiken.
If you want further information about the different options regarding Department visits, please contact the Department secretariat at
