New employees, autumn 2010 - 31.12.2010

Björn Hamberger, Associate Professor from August 1, 2010.

Björn Hamberger will be working with cytochrome P450 enzymes which are involved in the specialized metabolism of diterpeniods. This work is part of the UNIK program and he will work closely together with Professor Birger Lindberg Møller.

Britta Hamberger, Laboratory Technichian from August 1, 2010.

Britta Hamberger will be working along with Björn Hamberger for the UNIK project, expressing Cytochromes P450's. She will also develop methods for RNA and metabolite analysis for tissues from different plant species harvested with the Laser Dissection Microscope.

Joel Fürstenberg-Hägg, Research assistant from August 1, 2010.

Title of project:"De novo biosynthesis and sequestring of cyanogenic glucosides in insects". This work is a continuation of the Zygaena project of Mika Zagrobelny Larsen and Niels Bjerg Jensen, and Birger Lindberg Møller will be supervising.

Magdalena Marek, Research assistant from September 1, 2010.

Magdalena Marek will be working on regulation of P4-ATPases closely together with Rosa López-Marqués and Thomas Günther-Pomorski.

Vanja Tanackovic, PhD Student at Section for Plant Glycobiology from September 28, 2010.

The title of her project is: Exploring Starch Biosynthesis in the New Cereal Model Brachypodium distachyon.

Jonatan Fangel, PhD Student at Section for Plant Glycobiology from October 15, 2010.

The title of his project is: Understanding the Early Evolution of Plant Processes by Study of the Charophycean Green Algae

Stefan Pentzold, PhD student at Section for Plant Biochemistry from November 1, 2010.

The title of his project is: Chemical co-adaptation in plant-insect interactions - Hydroxynitrile glucosides in the burnet moth Zygaena. It is supervised by Søren Bak and co-supervised by Birger Lindberg Møller and Mika Zagrobelny Larsen.
