Bachelor or Master project at Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology

You have the possibility of doing your Bachelor or Master project at the Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology if you are enrolled at an education at KU-LIFE or at any other biological education in Denmark.

Cyanobacteria

Department of Plant Biology and biotechnology is characterized by a strong research and academically competent fiery souls. We primarily conduct our research and teaching within the area of basic anatomical, physiological, biochemical, molecular and pathological life functions of plants and the interaction between plants, microorganisms and the environment.

Which project?

It is a good idea to have an informal, non-committal talk with one of our researchers as soon as you have a vague idea of your choice of subject. To get inspired you can

- browse our catalogue of specific project suggestions

- check the list of previous MSc projects.

- read more about the research within the four sections at the department

Concerning the project suggestions, it is important to stress that they are only suggestions. Consequently, if you find a project you are inspired by, but would like to twist a little, all you have to do is to contact the proposer and discuss the possibilities.

Some students know exactly what the subject of their project is going to be. For these students it is primarily a question of getting a supervisor.

If you have problems finding a suitable teacher and supervisor, please contact the head of the Board of Studies, Associate Professor Tom Hamborg Nielsen.

Student at Department of Plant Biology and Biotechnology

You will be offered a student place at the department. We believe that this is a win-win situation for both parties. As a student you are physically situated near your supervisor and other students, which often strongly effectuate the completion of your project, as assistance is always around – both professionally, but also in case you suddenly lose heart or need moral support. As part of a research group, you are invited to social events, group meetings and to present your project at one of the department seminars.
